Todd L. Calvin recently joined The Kelley Firm, PLLC, and possesses a multi-layered foundation and extensive experience in all aspects of music and entertainment law from initial rights acquisition, development and production through distribution.

He is particularly skillful at advising clients on production legal matters as well as music-related transactions, including recording contracts, composer agreements, synch licenses, publishing, and concert agreements.​​

 

Calvin has comprehensive experience with live-action series (scripted and un-scripted), feature films, animation, live events and concerts music-driven productions and has worked across major studios, networks, and streaming platforms. Calvin will continue as Counsel to the firm of Kia Kamran, P.C., where he focuses on music law, including recording, publishing, licensing, producing, and film & television music.

He was most recently Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, for Paramount Global, where he was responsible for negotiating and drafting a high volume of above-the-line deals for the development and production of original live-action scripted content distributed on Paramount’s streaming and linear platforms including Nickelodeon, TV Land, Paramount+ and third-party platforms such as Netflix and Hulu.

At the start of Calvin's career, a passion for music led him to the San Francisco Opera, where he oversaw the rehearsal department.  He currently serves as president emeritus on the board of the Los Angeles Opera League and is currently pursuing a certificate in The Business of Music executive program at the University of California, Los Angeles.

 

Todd L. Calvin graduated from the University of California, Davis with a B.A. in Political Science and holds a J.D. from the University of California, College of Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings).  He is admitted to the California State Bar and will be

based in The Kelley Firm, PLLC's new office in Beverly Hills, California.
